Having great thumbnails is one of the most important ingredients to a successful YouTube video. The design of your thumbnail will dramatically change your click-through rate and is a big part of determining how many clicks and views you get on any given video.

1. Contrasting Colors

The name of the game with thumbnails is to be as eye-catching as possible. Including contrasting colors in the image is a great way to stand out. Take a quick look into color theory and complementary colors to better understand which color combos will really stand out.
